What a difference a day makes
Yesterday, I felt so tired, flat, lethargic... last night I fell asleep so early, woke up for an hour or so, and fell back to sleep. Honestly, at 33 days clean and sober, I can say last night was the most amazing sleep I have had since entering recovery. So great, in fact, that I had to post about it.
I woke up motivated, and with energy and happiness. I have a plan for my day, which includes not using or drinking just for the next 24 hours.
I think I expected my insomnia to have resolved itself a lot faster than it did... I now realize that I need to get more in tune with my body 's natural rhythm, which is different from the artificially induced 12 -14 hours sleep I would get when on my opioids.
To anyone with less time, stick around and stay clean and sober. It is so worth it, but have a plan for days that are not the best.
For me, posting on SR, dialing into a 12 step phone meeting, and talking with supportive family and friends gets me through the rough spots without using.

OMG 1day you are my hero. 32 was one of the worst sober days i have had. I got twelve hours of sleep last night and feel euphoric today! Going to hit the gym while my energy is high and really shred bis and back! I am glad today picked up for you as well.

Hi O,
What a beautiful day... I had to take a huge detour driving home from work, and I enjoyed the extra time with the sunshine and much milder temps!!
It feels like spring in Denver!

Oh that's a good point! I think I'm going to pop someone in the eye as soon as I hear " it's too hot outside" comment lol, Jk. It's been just too cold, and those wds last month didn't make it any better. I'm ready for summer, grilling without snow falling on my head, pool parties aaaaahhhh can't wait!

I will probably be one of the first to say "It is too hot"... but you are right, to go through the worst of the withdrawals with all the chills and sickness during the cold and snow was unreal... it seems like a nightmare now... I am looking forward to the short season of spring... 70-80 degrees, nice walking weather, good sleeping weather... I think maybe we have two weeks of this type of weather before it turns from winter into summer.
