From fleeing sobriety to pursuing it...?

I just wanted to share my thoughts and hear yours. How crazy is it that we once tried everything to not be sober only to give everything and suffer to get into that state again...? Maybe its true and we only see what we had once we loose it in a sense. Sobriety is both the default state and also the blessed state, the state that we want and even will suffer to, to reach it again. Wow

Benoleds, yes, sobriety is worth all the work we need to put into it.

Great post. Yes to be back into that state of gratitude and wonder that is seemingly natural for young children before the socialisation of the world changes it all and of course the discovery of alcohol 🙏

I didn't try NOT to be sober. For an alcoholic, reaching for that drink IS the default state. While in the clutch of active alcoholism, being sober was an unreachable dream. It was also a scary prospect. In hindsight, that scary prospect was nothing to be afraid of. It just seemed like it.
