NASCAR on the telly. Yesterday the race was canceled because of rain.

I can relate. I sat through countless meetings for years and spoke little. I did not feel like I was taking full advantage of what AA has to offer, half measures some call it. My being reserved and cautious can come off as being shy to others. I moved on to something recovery different and currently, it works very well if I continue to work it - because we are worth it.

🤔 Perhaps rehearse a short check-in kinda public AA speech? Work on not being overtly self-conscious and just blurt it out, short, sweet, to the point, and done 30 seconds of talking will even do the job very well. 🙂 Just do it 💯.
Tell me how you did?

Check List for Healthy Attitude

- Am I a recovery guru or SR Mod? No, I will flag bad stuff tho.
- Did I share only my ES&H, use “I” statements, and, not tell people what to do? better at it but do some "we" stuff too
- Was I respectful, helpful, and kind? I have deleted posts before I post a few times. Good to do that.
- Was I honest and shared only the truth about myself today? No stretching of the BS to people
- Did I cause any religious drama today? small AA trigger I suckered myself into more work needed
- Was I good and kind to myself using self-care for better self-worth? I like myself, always work to do. I feel that my life sober is very valuable. I have a strong need to keep myself safe and free from active addiction free. 331 days sober 🥳
- What did I learn today? fear will stop me from expanding outward for adventure.

Treatments Check List

Working on what comorbid treatment? Keeping regular with meds, SR, and call my friends often. Need to call sis(s).

Stay on a sleep program: I'm good today
SR friend interactions: Better at it but slow.
Go outside and walk. so far mail and back 150 200 yards.
What procrastination treatments am I using now? small tiny steps are still working well did a snap model have another ready to go
Exercise or more movement treatment progress. nope

“Desiderata”, written by Max Ehrmann,
(the word ‘desiderata’ in Latin means things which are desired.)

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy you achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born out of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are the child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of like keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

So much wisdom in the Desiderata. Thanks for posting it up, Zen.

I also really like that checklist of yours. Do you use it every day?

I LOVE that one year chip! Yin and Yang..

Maybe start each new day off with a random quote from https://www.azquotes.com/

Righty-O Recovery failures are indeed not failures at all. Call it a discovery process yes. Edison zapped an elephant to death with Tesla's AC current to show it's more dangerous than his DC current. Poor elephant Animal killer Tommy lost the electricity war the big dummy.

Check List for Healthy Attitude

- Am I a recovery guru or SR Mod? Nope
- Did I share only my ES&H, use “I” statements, and, not tell people what to do? doing good feeling good
- Was I respectful, helpful, and kind? Doing "thank a member" with a Visitor Message if they have one otherwise a tag
- Was I honest and shared only the truth about myself today? Such an old habit from my insecurities. Improvement feels good
- Did I cause any religious drama today? thinking about starting a thread in the spirituality forum about world religion present and past. It helps me to understand my old religion discounted other religions. I now cherish learning about the evolution of religion.
- Was I good and kind to myself using self-care for better self-worth? Have a model in progress finally
- What am I learning? self-improvement can be a little painful at times and joyous most of the time.

Treatments Check List

Working on what comorbid treatment? Keeping regular with meds, SR, and call my friends often. Need to call sis(s). Check

Stay on a sleep program: not bad lately. feel rested.
SR friend interactions: yes good stuff
Go outside and walk. so far mail and back 150 200 yards. yep
What procrastination treatments am I using now? set the timer, get up do the task, and set the timer again. SFSG
Exercise or more movement treatment progress. get mail.
