60 day check in
60 days ago I woke up with the hangover from hell. Once again I had relapsed. So I am trying again. I have gone long periods before not drinking, so my problem is not stopping but relapsing. I have made some changes, one of which was cutting an alcoholic friend out of my life. I hated to do it, but he does nothing but drink and I was afraid he would drag me back to it. I have been walking for exercise, and keeping a journal. My energy level has been up and down. My drinking life has been a long road, and not a pleasant one. I'll save the stories, they are typical of an alcoholic. I am glad to be sober again. Life is better. SR is a big help. Thanks to everyone here. This site is a lifeline, and I appreciate it.
Great to hear. But I'm sorry you had to go through so much to get here.
I was the relapse king, too.
my brother has started drinking again after twenty five years of mostly on sobriety. Had to cut him out of my life.
Oh, I'll talk to him on the phone once in awhile, but that's it.
Congratulations on sixty days, that's huge. And keep that last hangover in mind, and know, you never have to feel like that again.
