I cant stop eating!
I gorged myself on rubbish for about a month when I first stopped.
Now I'm on a health kick, have lost the weight and more.
So what if you gain a few pounds, you can lose that later. And let's face it, Carbs are so comforting. So comfort yourself, you deserve it

I should add that my addiction therapists in IOP tell us that sugar cravings are normal right now and to treat ourselves if we wish. They advised healthy options (say, strawberry shortcake or fruit parfait) over some other things, but said that our weight should be the least of our concerns right now. It's more important that we quit our drug of choice and live.
I have been having the same experience. I'm in month 4. I was literally eating tons of junk. Way, way better than drinking. However, I knew that it could not go on for too long. Over the last two weeks, I have been getting the eating back under control, and this has been way, way easier than quitting drinking. For me, early on, I just said do what ever I needed to to stay sober. Now, I don't feel like I need the junk, so I'm moving on. Hang in there.
