In for July 2024. One day at a time is how I became an alcoholic and one day at a time is how I stay sober. I focus on “Just don’t take that first drink and then I don’t have to worry about the second, third, fourth ….. ….”

I'm in for July. My birthday month. I start it off this time by turning 65 tomorrow. My wife was a little sad yesterday. Our son (33 y.o.) and his girlfriend are heading back to CA (San Mateo?). They were home for two weeks. He met his girlfriend at a gamer's convention a few years ago. He was playing games for money for other people (in addition to working full time). Final Fantasy, I believe. He "hated" N. It sucks and moved out to CA (Sacramento), then closer to SFO as she works for Apple. Now CA sucks and he wants to move back to NYC (a trendy neighborhood of BKLYN or Queens). We'll see. As long as they're happy.

I’m in for July as well. Day 109 for me. Runner and DD, good reminder of how sobriety is accomplished…ODAAT and not picking up that first drink. I’ve had increased AV chatter the last week or so and I think it’s because I have a vacation coming up and have been looking ahead and thinking about drinking (well, not drinking) on the trip. Vacations have been all day booze fests and this one won’t and the AV is having a tantrum about it. I’ve got to get back to the ODAAT mindset and just focus on not drinking today. When the vacation comes, take it a day at a time too.

I think you are the expert on how to get sober, dear BD. 
I have never seen anyone put in more effort over a long period of time, and look at you now—109 days. That is phenomenal.

Count me in for July!
Went for a long run this morning- the longest in years. Plantar fascia playing up a bit now though.
Watching some of Glastonbury, feeling a bit sad I dont go to places like that anymore!

Hey everyone! In for July for sure! Have had a really good week this past week after being sick for a while. Good to feel well again and to be eating healthy food. I hope to get back to exercise this week and would like to continue to lose weight in July.
BD: Congrats on 109 days. As Suze said, you are very dedicated in your sobriety, and it shows! All of your hard work is definitely paying off!!

Happy July all. Day 43. I'm up at 3am after pretty much sleeping from noon yesterday lol. Still a bit tired. Bit disoriented, lot of drinking dreams and I had to check I didn't spend any money because I half thought I drank.
I like when the first day of the month is a Monday. The AV likes it too unfortunately because it seized it yesterday morning to badger me. ("Tomorrow is Mon 1st, perfect day to start over! Few drinks won't kill you today.")
The first half of 2024 was a bit of a mess. I mean, it started during a five week psych admission lol. Here's to a better second half.
