Sober 1 year today...
thanks for all the kind words today. Last night, I went out to dinner with a lot of my neighborhood friends and they bought me a t-bone even though I was still getting over the flu. It was a great time.
My wife and daughter surprised me with a pit bull puppy that I got to meet and will pick up on Sunday to bring home for good. I had lunch with the guy who scraped me off the street the morning I was taken to the hospital. Now, he's one of my best friends.
My organs are no longer failing, my diabetes is gone and I'm really excited about the future. I am truly one lucky man.
It all begins with a little bit of willingness to climb out of a self inflicted hell.
Life is good.

I got my puppy today....I named her Maggie from the walking dead. It was either Maggie or zombie but the kid wasn't havin' zombie so we went with Maggie. I haven't smiled this much in years. What a difference a sober year makes. I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
