All of us care a great deal about you FF, and I hope you really know this. Love yourself and be good to yourself.

Zencat 09-30-2023 05:21 PM

You know what's the right thing to do FF, but it takes a whole lot of courage to do it. You have that courage and so much more. Stick with your wellness behaviors the best you can. Pat yourself on the back for the good you are doing, don't forget that.

FF addiction can jump around to other behaviors like what you did with the water. The thrill of getting away with a bad behavior to feel in control is unhealthy. Resist doing that in the future please, ok buddy. Lots of love :)

Do you trust these nurses and doctors?

I think at some point you are going have to trust a set of doctors and nurses. At some point you are going to have to take that chance. If you wanted to cross the Atlantic the most efficient way is to trust a pilot. Its what we have to do sometimes as humans. Put our life in the hands of other human beings. We can't just walk in the **** pit and take over the controls half way across the ocean. Sometimes the best thing, the only thing we can do is trust the pilot. Sometimes pilots, even air traffic control. mechanics make mistakes. Its the chance we have to take. Or even a boat, once again trust a captain and a crew. Its just so much more feasible to trust other human beings than to cross the Atlantic in some cheap ship or raft that we could get our hands on or swim across.

Your way is landing you in the pysch ward again and again and again. If you trust these nurses and doctors this can be a chance to fix this and possibly be able to help others at some point. So you don't have to worry about getting out and using or harming yourself or landing in another psych ward.

I know it can be frightening to trust others, to trust God, to face the unknown. If you think about this rationally, not only is there more upside, there is likely pretty good odds of some upside.

You are still kind of young why not get this cleaned up now? Put your cards on the table and try following their procedures. The more you come clean with them the more they can help you.

The more you put into this, the more you will get out of it. You've already invested some time here, try and get the most you can out of it for your long-term benefit.

Grear post reckless :scoregood

How are you today ff?

freedomfries 09-30-2023 10:53 PM

Thanks everyone. I'm going to see what nurse is assigned to me today when the day staff come in, and maybe tell them. I kind of have to. I've drank 5L in the last hour and I'm shaking with cold. I thought I could just stop today but doesn't seem so.

RAL 09-30-2023 10:58 PM

Oh ff please ask for help now. Please dont wait to see which nurse is on. 5l in an hour could kill you you may not be cold but a real medical emergency

Dee74 09-30-2023 11:01 PM

Please do let someone know what's going on FF.
Some of us have battled that self destructive part of ourselves and we've come out the other side...with help.

Give the people there the opportunity to help you.

There'll be changeover from night to day staff in a few minutes. Then breakfast. I threw away the cup I had in the bathroom into a bin in front of the nurses station. Breakfast is a fry so lots of sodium.

RAL 09-30-2023 11:21 PM

I don't think you can play with this ff. A fry wont counteract the effects of 5l of water. It's not a game. You really could die. I dont know what else to say. Only you can ask for help in there. I hope you do before it's too late.

freedomfries 09-30-2023 11:23 PM

I think what I might do is suggest to the nurse I be weighed throughout the day so they'd know if I was drinking too much, rather than putting me on Special.

Dee74 09-30-2023 11:31 PM

Honestly I'd do whatever choice makes it harder for you to keep doing this, man.

freedomfries 10-01-2023 12:13 AM

Well I told on my myself when a nurse asked how I was doing with the water restriction. She's going to ask whoever my nurse today is to talk to me.

Steely 10-01-2023 12:26 AM

Good on you Freedom. You dobbed yourself in. :)

Good thing about the 'self-dob' is you can never be accused of being a stooly. 😂

Just taking the next right step.

Dee74 10-01-2023 12:38 AM

You've done the right thing FF :)

RAL 10-01-2023 12:59 AM

Proud of you ff. Youve done the best thing

freedomfries 10-01-2023 01:17 AM

Thanks everyone.

freedomfries 10-01-2023 02:36 AM

I don't think the nurse believed me. But like, I've literally had several seizures and ended up in the Cardiac Care Unit from this crap in the past, so it's not like I don't have an established history.

freedomfries 10-01-2023 02:57 AM

Upset about the nurse not believing so I just spite-drank another litre. :/

RAL 10-01-2023 03:08 AM

Is there someone else you could speak with ff? Resentmebtvand drinking at someone doesnt hurt them. Only us.

aasharon90 10-01-2023 03:27 AM

Keep seeking help and don't give up. For so long it was so
easy to lie or pull the wool over folks eyes. BSing my way
thru situation where honesty was called for. This behavior
became so easy to come by that I even believed it myself.

In recovery where I may have lost trust in folks, I had to relearn
how to regain it back. And that began with being honest with myself.

If at first you don't succeed try try again. A saying heard countless
times.

We care and want you to get healthy and move forward. Stay
in the moment and stay focused. Stay connected with us as
folks will continue to guide you sending lots of support, care
and understanding your way. :grouphug:
