OMG......that is the other song I was thinking of JUST now.....far out you are amazing....I used to know what that one was about.....brb :)

Wow.....this is hysterical!!!!

Reid (co-author of the song) got the title and starting point for the song at a party. He overheard someone at the party saying to a woman, "You've turned a whiter shade of pale", and the phrase stuck in his mind.

Ha ha ha ha ha

And......the band was named after a siamese cat's pedigree name but they spelled it wrong by accident..... :) :)

Wow Kathy! Your email was brilliant. I love it xx :You_Rock_

Suze, Kathy, I never knew the meaning of night’s in white satin, either. Learn something new every day, especially on this thread. :grouphug:

I can see from this thread that a big chunk of my education is missing :lmao

best of days and all my love

Gilmer 11-13-2018 07:52 AM

Thanks, Lori! :)

I think that was a good email to send, Kathy. I hope you hear back from her and that she accepts your decision with affection.

Gilmer 11-13-2018 08:43 AM

I hope she does.

Hevyn 11-13-2018 08:49 AM

Surely they won't take offense, Kathy - you explained it perfectly.
His will be done - no one can argue with that. Sorry you had to deal with their well meant offer.

She and her Lyme disease really have been helped by her husband's research into alternative treatments including magnetism.

I don't discount it at all, and I appreciate that they care--but for me mentally that ship has already sailed.

Kathy, your email to your friend is one of the most beautiful perspectives on death and the outstanding and even incomprehensible beauty which awaits in His eternity.

Thank you.

Caramel 11-13-2018 09:37 AM

Dear Gilmer, your words remind me of those of Mr Standfast in The Pilgrim's Progress:

"I see myself now at the end of my journey; my toilsome days are ended. I am going to see that head which was crowned with thorns, and that face which was spit upon for me. I have formerly lived by hearsay and faith; but now I go where I shall live by sight, and shall be with him in whose company I delight myself. I have loved to hear my Lord spoken of; and wherever I have seen the print of his shoe in the earth, there I have coveted to set my foot too. His name has been to me as a civet-box; yea, sweeter than all perfumes. His voice to me has been most sweet, and his countenance I have more desired than they that have most desired the light of the sun. His words I did use to gather for my food, and for antidotes against my faintings. He hath held me, and hath kept me from mine iniquities; yea, my steps hath he strengthened in his way."

God richly bless you.

Thank you guys.

Caramel, believe it or not, I have never read Pilgrim's Progress! Thank you for sharing that lovely passage. I want that motivation to be my motivation always.

Gilmer 11-13-2018 10:55 AM

I just heard back from my friend. She was most gracious and was not hurt that she did not hear the news from me first.

She completely respected my "eternal" orientation, and affirmed me--but she said if I ever changed my mind to just let them know.

She also volunteered to help me with meals, driving, or errands if I need them. I certainly appreciate that.

venuscat 11-13-2018 11:02 AM

That is lovely. ♥

Ann 11-13-2018 11:07 AM

Caramel, what a lovely piece. I too have not read that book...but I may read it now. Thank you.

Kathy, I am glad your friend is handling this with the same grace that you did. Real help is nice, I hope you get lots of help and won't be afraid to call upon it.

Sending afternoon hugs, for all that you inspire here.

Kathy, the ring of people pic, reminds me of a nursery rhyme, ‘Ring-a-Ring-Of -Roses’ I think that’s what it was called. That was about the Plague.

Gilmer 11-13-2018 11:33 AM

I know. Those people in the middle ages sure had a macabre sense of humor.

Like "Rock-A-Bye Baby
In the tree top
When the wind blows
The cradle will rock
When the bough breaks
The cradle will fall
And down will come baby
Cradle and all!"

Sick pups!

Alysheba 11-13-2018 11:51 AM

So glad that turned out so well and you spoke your truth. I hope you are doing well. I just wanted to jump in and say hi to my most favorite person!

Love, hugs and prayers. Have a really nice rest of the day. All my love. ♥♥♥

We played that as children, called it "Ring Around the Rosy". I didn't find out until 100 or so (:lmao) years later what the song was about!
