Powerful and Illicit Drug - LSD
Lysergic acid diethylamide or LSD is a Drug that is prepared from ergot, a fungus that is widely found on wheat and rye. This Drug was first made in 1938 by two chemists from Switzerland, Albert Hofmann and Arthur Stoll. One of them accidentally swallowed some of the Drug they had created and they then found out the effects of LSD. The effects were hallucinatory, and it quickly became a Drug that was used for the pleasure of its hallucinogenic effects.
About LSD
LSD is a Drug that is illegal in the United States. This Drug is very powerful and it causes thoughts and feelings to become distorted when it is taken. Taking only 100-200 millionths of a gram of LSD can actually cause a person to go on what is called a “trip” and this “trip” can last for up to 12 hours. While many do not think that people become physically dependent on LSD, there is definitely a psychological dependency that can occur.
Effects of LSD Abuse
When people take LSD, many people end up seeing hallucinations of colors, light patterns, and may also feel that they get new insights into who they are as a person. IN some cases these hallucinations can feel quite scary, but many find them quite pleasurable as well. One of the effects of LSD is that it can have you to have flashbacks of your previous hallucinations, which can be very scary. It can cause depression and may even lead people to commit suicide as well.
